{"id":526,"date":"2015-04-08T15:00:06","date_gmt":"2015-04-08T14:00:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=526"},"modified":"2020-03-20T23:12:57","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T23:12:57","slug":"two-law-students-win-scholarships-to-brussels-summer-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/two-law-students-win-scholarships-to-brussels-summer-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Law students win scholarships to Brussels Summer School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Law School students Tedi Jorgji and Hannah Loosley have been awarded a scholarship to attend a two-week European Summer School in Brussels.<\/p>\n<p>Tedi, a final year student on the Law and Accounting &amp; Finance programme, and Hannah, a second year student studying Law with Spanish, were two of 20 students selected from amongst hundreds of applicants for the scholarship.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/summerschools\/europe\/index.html\">Summer School in Brussels<\/a> is one of several that were established to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the University of Kent. Hosted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/brussels\/\">Brussels School of International Studies<\/a> from 6 to 17 July, the Summer School will be centred on the theme of &#8216;Europe and the World&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Tedi and Hannah will enjoy a programme that includes guest lectures, seminars and debates delivered by academics, policy-makers, diplomats and European civil servants.<\/p>\n<p>They will discover how the European Union (EU) functions with a particular focus on how it acts as a global organisation and the challenges it faces in today&#8217;s world.
