The thesis contended that the anti-spectacular \u2018bureaucratic\u2019 and \u2018mundane\u2019 nature of drone warfare and drone visuality generates a state of distracted attentiveness in the public of spectator-subjects, which establishes a negative rather than positive legitimacy for use of state force.<\/li>\n<li>Examiners: Professor Desmond Manderson (Australian National University) and Professor Diamond Ashiagbor<\/li>\n<li>Kent Law School supervisors: Dr Connal Parsley, Dr Sara Kendall and Professor Amanda Perry-Kessaris,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Philemon Iko-Ojo Omede<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Philemon passed his PhD*, with no corrections<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The title of Philemon&#8217;s thesis: &#8220;<strong>Transnational Regulation, Lenders&#8217; Responses and the Needs of Consumer Borrowers in Nigeria<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Examiners were Professor Geraint Howells (University of Manchester) and Dr Gbenga Oduntan.<\/li>\n<li>Kent Law School supervisors: Professor Iain Ramsay and Dr Simone Wong.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Carina Lamont<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Carina (a KLS student studying at Kent&#8217;s Brussels School of International Studies) passed her PhD* from her home in Sweden<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The title of Carina&#8217;s thesis: &#8220;<strong>In Search of a Normative Framework, jus post bellum for Effective, Purposive, and Sustainable Protection of Civilians in United Nations Peace Operations<\/strong>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Examiners were Professor Stephen Allen (Queen Mary University) and Emeritus Professor Wade Mansell (Kent Law School)<\/li>\n<li>KLS BSIS supervisors: Professor Yutaka Arai and Professor Harm Schepel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Antony Starza-Allen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Antony has also passed his PhD* from his home.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The title of Antony&#8217;s thesis: &#8220;<strong>The Racial Matching of Gamete Donors in UK Fertility Clinics<\/strong>&#8220;<\/li>\n<li>Examiners were Professor Nicky Hudson (Sociology, De Montford University, Leicester) and Dr Julie McCandless (Kent Law School)<\/li>\n<li>Kent Law School supervisors: Professor Sally Sheldon and Dr Kirsty Horsey, as well as supervision by previous KLS colleague, Dr Mairead Enright.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Matthew Wetherill<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matthew (a KLS student studying at Kent&#8217;s Brussels School of International Studies) passed his PhD*, with minor corrections, from his home in New Jersey.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The title of Matthew&#8217;s thesis: <strong>&#8220;Judicial Interpretation and Nullum Crimen Sine Lege at the International Criminal Court: An Exercise in Utilising &#8216;Other Inhumane Acts&#8217;
