{"id":412,"date":"2015-03-10T12:16:42","date_gmt":"2015-03-10T12:16:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=412"},"modified":"2015-03-10T12:23:42","modified_gmt":"2015-03-10T12:23:42","slug":"registration-now-open-for-final-technoscience-law-society-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/registration-now-open-for-final-technoscience-law-society-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration now open for final Technoscience, Law &amp; Society conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Online registration has now opened for the final Technoscience, Law &amp; Society conference taking place on 9\/10\u00a0April 2015.<\/p>\n<p>The international conference is the final event for\u00a0Technoscience, Law &amp; Society, an\u00a0Arts and\u00a0Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Network.<\/p>\n<p>Titled \u2018Articulating Science, Technology and Law: Regarding, Reflecting, and Remaking Society\u2019, the conference will provide a platform for conversations across all thematic issues of relevance to the Network, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Expertise, knowledge and the making of norms and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Law and materiality<\/li>\n<li>Ethics and the regulation of science<\/li>\n<li>Methodological conversations in science and technology studies and law<\/li>\n<li>Law, technology and social practices<\/li>\n<li>Science in the courtrooms<\/li>\n<li>Markets, technologies and the law<\/li>\n<li>Global governance, scientific knowledge and global justice<\/li>\n<li>Law, science and the regulation of bodies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Plenary speakers include:\u00a0Mario Biagioli (University of California at Davis); Amade M\u2019charek (University of Amsterdam); Barbara Prainsack (Kings College London); Ayo Wahlberg (University of Copenhagen); and David Winickoff (University of California at Berkeley).<\/p>\n<p>Further details are available on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/tls\/events\/eventbrief\/event5.html\">conference website<\/a>. The event is free for Kent Law School staff and students with a\u00a0standard AHRC registration fee of \u00a350 (\u00a335 for students) applying to all other attendees.
