The group is a new ‘street law’ initiative that aims to 1) inform members of the Roma community in Kent about their rights as EU citizens in the UK post-Brexit and 2) empower the Roma community with the knowledge to navigate the process of applying for settled status. At Wednesday’s meeting, Graham will present the details of two recent cases that will help law students learn the rules around making an application for settled status. The next step will be to travel out to the Roma community in various locations around Kent so that students can pass on the knowledge.

All students are welcome to attend the meeting which begins at 3pm in the main Law Clinic office – the more that come, the greater the chance of being able to make a real difference to the local Roma community. A follow-up meeting (to which ALL law students are welcome) will be held at 3pm on Wednesday 13 February in the Law Clinic.

(The new Case Discussion Sessions have been organised by the Law Clinic’s Student Committee in response to student demand for more opportunities to discuss Law Clinic cases. The first session, held in January, featured an in-depth discussion of two family law cases with Clinic Solicitor Philippa Bruce.)

To keep up-to-date with all the latest news and events from the Law Clinic, keep an eye on the Clinic noticeboard (in the main office of the Clinic) and/or subscribe to the Clinic mailing list: kls-clinic@kent.ac.uk

All welcome to attend the Law Clinic’s weekly meetings held at 2pm on Tuesdays in term time.

Kent Law Clinic’s weekly Tuesday meeting was led by the Student Committee Vice-Chair Terrie Student Committee updates: Enquiries: 61 new enquiries have been received in … Read more

[137,124,28766
187604,209527
