The Kent Student Law Review<\/em><\/a> (KSLR), a new student-led law journal, will be launched at Kent Law School in October.<\/p>\n

The journal, which will be issued annually, provides a platform for students and academics at Kent Law School to have their work reviewed and published. It has been produced by an Editorial Board drawn from current students and recent graduates, led by Editors-in-Chief Ayda Tabrizi and Nico Mesiainen (pictured right).<\/p>\n

Nico said: \u2018We seek to promote the unique legal heritage of Kent Law School by promoting and publishing theoretically informed critical legal scholarship, which situates law in society.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018In this first volume, we are publishing articles written by Kent students and alumni. Topics range from IP Law and assisted suicide to climate change.\u2019<\/p>\n

The Editorial Board has been supported by Kent Law School staff, including Law Lecturer M\u00e1ir\u00e9ad Enright and a Review Committee comprising Professor Rosemary Hunter, Anne Bottomley and Dr Vicky Conway.<\/p>\n

Nico said: \u2018Establishing the journal was a completely new project for most of us, we learnt something new each time we talked to M\u00e1ir\u00e9ad, contacted other journal editors or met with academics to discuss our next steps.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thanks to the help from the Review Committee and from the Law School, we have learned how to deal with Editorial Board applications, submissions, copy editing and other crucial aspects of everyday law review work.<\/p>\n

\u2018We hope that the whole Law School community, and those generally interested about law from academics to students, will enjoy reading the articles we choose to publish.\u2019<\/p>\n

A launch party for the journal will be held in Grimond Foyer\/GLT2 on Friday 3rd October, from 6pm \u2013 8pm.<\/p>\n
