{"id":3516,"date":"2018-10-18T11:23:13","date_gmt":"2018-10-18T10:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=3516"},"modified":"2018-10-18T11:35:29","modified_gmt":"2018-10-18T10:35:29","slug":"the_world_university_rankings_law_2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/the_world_university_rankings_law_2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Law School&#8217;s world-leading reputation for research recognised in THE World University Rankings 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kent Law School&#8217;s strong international character and world-leading reputation for research has been recognised in the prestigious<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeshighereducation.com\/world-university-rankings\/2019\/subject-ranking\/law#!\/page\/0\/length\/25\/sort_by\/rank\/sort_order\/asc\/cols\/stats\"><em> Times Higher Education <\/em>(THE) World University Rankings 2019 for law<\/a>, published today.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Out of 187 law schools across the globe (expanded from the 100 that were ranked in 2018), Kent is ranked 58th overall.\u00a0Within the ranking, Kent is <span class=\"s1\">12th for international outlook and is listed among the 50 best law schools in the world for research.\u00a0Only 34 UK universities made it into this year&#8217;s rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The THE World University Rankings are the only global performance tables that judge research-intensive universities across\u00a013 carefully calibrated performance indicators, grouped into five key areas: teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation); citations (research influence); international outlook (staff, students and research); and industry income (knowledge transfer).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the THE World University Rankings, Kent Law School performs strongly in two other leading global league tables; Kent is ranked among\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">the top 100 law schools in the world in the\u00a02018 Shanghai Ranking&#8217;s Global Ranking of Academic Subject and among\u00a0<\/span>the top 150 law schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Kent also features in the top 20 of all three major UK league tables;
