{"id":3447,"date":"2018-09-26T16:11:35","date_gmt":"2018-09-26T15:11:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=3447"},"modified":"2020-02-06T08:35:49","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T08:35:49","slug":"annual-law-fair-offers-excellent-networking-opportunity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/annual-law-fair-offers-excellent-networking-opportunity\/","title":{"rendered":"Annual Law Fair offers excellent networking opportunity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent\u2019s annual Law Fair on Wednesday 31 October offers an excellent opportunity for law students and non-law students to network with leading local, national and international law firms.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s Fair, organised by members of Kent Student Law Society (KSLS), will be held from 1pm \u2013 4pm in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/maps\/canterbury\/canterbury-campus\/building\/eliot-college\">Eliot Hall<\/a> on Kent\u2019s Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>Law firms attending include Magic Circle firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cliffordchance.com\/home.html\">Clifford Chance<\/a> together with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brachers.co.uk\/\">Brachers LLP<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cripps.co.uk\/\">Cripps LLP<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dentons.com\/en\">Dentons<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dgblaw.co.uk\/\">DGB Solicitors<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.furleypage.co.uk\/\">Furley Page Solicitors<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hatten-wyatt.com\/\">Hatten Wyatt<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.herbertsmithfreehills.com\/\">Herbert Smith Freehills<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.icsa.org.uk\/\">Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.martintolhurst.co.uk\/\">Martin Tolhurst Solicitors<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ts-p.co.uk\/\">Thomson Snell &amp; Passmore<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.trowers.com\/\">Trowers and Hamlins<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Fair is open to all Kent students with an interest in pursuing a legal career. Anyone thinking of attending is encouraged to attend a preparatory talk in the preceding week from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 23 October in GLT3. Philippa Ward, a Corporate Solicitor at Pinsent Masons, will be sharing advice on how to maximise the opportunity to network and explore career options.<\/p>\n<p>Law Fair organiser Nikoletta Komiati said: \u2018As well as being a great networking opportunity, our 2018 Law Fair is the ideal way to gain an insight into vacation schemes and training contracts. Its primary aim is to support students exploring the option of a career in law as a solicitor. The Society holds talks, CV and interview workshops, and seminars with professionals from different careers and backgrounds throughout the term.
