{"id":3442,"date":"2018-09-24T13:56:33","date_gmt":"2018-09-24T12:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=3442"},"modified":"2021-03-26T13:33:51","modified_gmt":"2021-03-26T13:33:51","slug":"times2018","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/times2018\/","title":{"rendered":"Kent Law School ranked 11th in UK in latest Times Good University Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kent Law School\u2019s strong performance in national and international league tables continues with news that it has been ranked 11<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> out of 102 UK institutions for law in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.co.uk\/article\/good-university-guide-in-full-tp6dzs7wn\"><span class=\"s3\"><i>The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide<\/i> 2019<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In addition to climbing three places from last year\u2019s subject ranking, the Law School is ranked 8<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> in the UK for the quality of its research and 14<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> for student experience. The ranking, published yesterday, also takes into consideration student opinion on teaching quality, graduate job prospects and course entry standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Last month, the Law School was ranked amongst the top 100 law schools in the world in the\u00a02018 Shanghai Ranking&#8217;s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects. The Law School is also currently ranked 50th in the\u00a0<i>Times Higher Education<\/i>\u00a0World University Rankings 2018 and is among the top 150 law schools in the QS World University Rankings 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kent is a leading UK law school, ranked 13th in\u00a0<i>The Guardian University Guide<\/i>\u00a02019 for law and 18th in\u00a0<i>The Complete University Guide<\/i>\u00a02019. It is one of only 14 UK university law schools to be ranked in the top 20 of all three major UK league tables.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Head of Kent Law School Professor Toni Williams said: \u2018As we begin our 50<\/span><span class=\"s2\"><sup>th<\/sup><\/span><span class=\"s1\"> anniversary celebrations, it is particularly gratifying to see Kent\u2019s reputation as a leading UK law school endorsed in this latest league table ranking.
