There’s still time to apply\u00a0for fee waivers and bursaries for\u00a0LLM by research<\/a>\u00a0programmes beginning at Kent Law School\u2019s Canterbury campus in 2017.<\/p>\n

With more than 60 postgraduate research students, Kent Law School offers a pluralistic and intellectual environment for research in which traditional and critical legal scholarship, theoretical and empirical work, and interdisciplinary studies all flourish.<\/p>\n

Ranked 8th<\/sup> in the UK for research intensity in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (and listed amongst the top 100 law schools in the world<\/a> in the QS World University Rankings by subject 2017), Kent Law School (and the University of Kent) offers a wide range of funding<\/a> for postgraduate research students interesting in studying for\u00a0an LLM by research<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Law School is currently inviting\u00a0applications for the Larry Grant Scholarship<\/a> and also offers a number of fee waivers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is expected that successful applicants will undertake their studies in areas of existing research strength<\/a> of the School.\u00a0Research proposals in socio-legal studies, law and the humanities, and critical legal studies are particularly welcome.<\/p>\n

Applicants should normally have obtained, or be about to obtain an undergraduate degree at a high Upper Second Class Honours level (2:1 or equivalent from other countries), or a postgraduate degree with Merit or Distinction.<\/p>\n

Together with a high-quality research proposal, applicants are asked to submit a sample of written work (see:\u00a0kls-studentships-2016-2017<\/a>\u00a0PDF) and to apply online<\/a>\u00a0by 5 May 2017<\/strong>.
