And this year, three new Student Awards are on offer to applicants from Kenya, Nigeria and Thailand.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/index.html\">Kent LLM<\/a> is a one-year taught Master\u2019s in Law offered at our Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>Applications for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/overseas.htm\">Taught Master\u2019s Overseas Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0close on Monday 20 March 2017 and applications for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/eu.html\">Taught Master\u2019s Home\/EU Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0close on Friday 5 May 2017. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>The Taught Master&#8217;s Home\/EU Scholarships\u00a0at Kent Law School cover full tuition fees payable by Home\/EU students &#8211; for the academic year 2017\/18, the Home\/EU rate is \u00a37,210.<\/p>\n<p>Two types of Taught Master\u2019s Overseas Scholarships are available; the first will provide tuition fees at the full overseas rate (\u00a314,670 in 2017\/18) along with living expenses (equivalent to \u00a314,296 in 2016\/17) and the second will provide tuition fees at the full overseas rate.<\/p>\n<p>Students who are successful in their application for scholarships will be considered Kent LLM Scholars and will have the opportunity to act as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/ambassadors.html\">LLM Ambassadors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/Taught_pg_funding.html?tab=kenya-nigeria-thailand\">Kent LLM Student Awards<\/a> \u00a0have been established to support students who are from or who have studied an undergraduate degree in Kenya, Nigeria and Thailand. Eligible students will be awarded \u00a32,500 as an automatic tuition fee discount (no formal deadline applies).<\/p>\n<p>In addition to funding offered by the Law School, the University has a generous postgraduate scholarship fund in\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/funding\/postgraduate\/sources\/index.html\">excess of \u00a39m<\/a>\u00a0available to both taught and research students studying at Kent. General information about\u00a0postgraduate funding at Kent, including information about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/funding\/postgraduate\/index.html\">tuition fees<\/a>, can be found on the University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/scholarships\/postgraduate\/index.html\">Postgraduate scholarships and funding<\/a>\u00a0web page.<\/p>\n<p>(For students interested in postgraduate research degrees, Kent Law School\u00a0also offers a number of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/research\/research_PhD_scholarships.html\">research studentships<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/research\/PGR_LLM_Scholarships.html\">LLM by Research scholarships<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>The Kent LLM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Kent LLM enables students to broaden and deepen their knowledge and understanding of law by specialising in one or more different areas, according to their career interests and aspirations, even if they are a non-law graduate. Students have the opportunity to choose pathways in a host of subject areas including: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/criminaljustice.html\">Criminal Justice<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/environmental.html\">Environmental Law and Policy<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/european.html\">European Law<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/humanrights.html\">Human Rights Law<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/intellectualproperty.html\">Intellectual Property Law<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/internationalcommerciallaw.html\">International Commercial Law<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/intcriminal.html\">International Criminal Justice<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/intenvironmental.html\">International Environmental Law<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/internationallaw.html\">International Law<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/intlawintrel.html\">International Law with International Relations<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/lawandhumanities.html\">Law and the Humanities<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/medicallaw.html\">Medical Law and Ethics<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The innovative nature of the programme means that students have the option to leave their choice of pathway open until after they arrive, with their specialisms being determined by the modules that they select.
