Applications are now open for a two-week European Summer School to be held in Brussels.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Summer School, one of several that were established to commemorate the 50th<\/sup> Anniversary of the University of Kent, will be\u00a0centred on the theme of \u2018Europe and the World\u2019 and will take place from the 6th to 17th July 2015.<\/p>\n Open to Kent and non-Kent students, the programme will include a series of guest lectures, seminars and debates delivered by academics, policy-makers, diplomats and European civil servants.<\/p>\n Students\u00a0will discover how the European Union (EU)\u00a0functions with a particular focus on how it acts as a global organisation and the challenges it faces in today\u2019s world. Sessions are likely to cover topics on migration, the EU’s relationship with emerging powers such as China, and the EU\u2019s response to the global economic crisis.<\/p>\n Students can also take advantage of a workshop with a qualified careers coach to develop skills in networking, mastering interviews and writing strong CVs.<\/p>\n Fees<\/a> are yet to be confirmed but will\u00a0cover teaching costs, course materials, access to Wi-Fi, weekly travel cards for travel to and from the university, lunches during the week, group excursions and a final celebration dinner.<\/p>\n Further information about programme content, accommodation and entry requirements (together with details of last year’s fees)\u00a0are available on the European Summer School website<\/a>.<\/p>\n Applications can be made online<\/a> between now and 29th\u00a0March 2015.<\/p>\n
