A legal submission by international law experts\u00a0at\u00a0Kent Law School has been published on the Iraq Inquiry website.<\/p>\n
The submission<\/a>, written in September 2010,\u00a0lists 18 points made in respect of Article 2 (4) of the UN Charter and its implications for the interpretation of UN Security Council resolutions.<\/p>\n Authored by\u00a0Professor Nick Grief, Dr Yutaka Arai, Sian Lewis-Anthony and Kasim Sheikh, the submission was made in response to an open invitation to experts in international law made in June 2010. Experts were invited<\/a> to comment on the issues of law arising from the grounds on which the UK Government relied for the legal basis for the 2003 military invasion of Iraq. A total of 37 documents were submitted,\u00a0all of \u00a0which\u00a0helped inform the Inquiry’s\u00a0considerations of legal issues. These\u00a0documents have now been declassified and published on the Inquiry\u2019s website at: \u00a0www.iraqinquiry.org.uk\/other-material\/submissions-international-law<\/a><\/p>\n Sir John Chilcot’s final Report of the Iraq Inquiry was published on 6 July 2016.
