It builds on the premise that objects are useful sources of both information and inspiration.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1620\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8501-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8501\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8501-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8501-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8501-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Law School staff guided students through an exploration of six specific objects at the Museum that included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/research\/collection_online\/collection_object_details.aspx?objectId=88895&amp;partId=1\">Sutton Hoo Sceptre<\/a><\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/research\/collection_online\/collection_object_details.aspx?objectId=368264&amp;partId=1\">Standard of Ur<\/a> from Iraq<\/li>\n<li>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/explore\/a_history_of_the_world\/objects.aspx#30\">Bronze Bell<\/a> from China<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/culturalinstitute.britishmuseum.org\/asset-viewer\/pillar-of-emperor-ashoka\/aAF6un9FwO-1KQ?hl=en\">Pillar of Ashoka<\/a> from India<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/PDF\/throne.pdf\">Throne of Weapons<\/a> from Mozambique<\/li>\n<li>and a\u00a0UK <a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishmuseum.org\/explore\/a_history_of_the_world\/objects.aspx#95\">coin defaced by Suffragettes<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Later in the day, students were tasked with selecting one item of their own to sketch and recreate in fimo clay before presenting them to their guides. Between them, the students selected: a\u00a0Dutch Indonesian finger press; an Uzbekh-Iranian painting; an Egyptian-Cypriot ring; and British-Nigerian mantillas.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8534.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1619\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1619\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8534-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8534\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8534-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8534-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/files\/2016\/05\/IMG_8534-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Professor Perry-Kessaris has been developing the concept of a tour of archives for legal academics for several years.
