{"id":1432,"date":"2016-03-02T12:10:57","date_gmt":"2016-03-02T12:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/?p=1432"},"modified":"2016-03-03T13:28:18","modified_gmt":"2016-03-03T13:28:18","slug":"skype-session-for-students-interested-in-studying-the-kent-llm-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/law-news\/skype-session-for-students-interested-in-studying-the-kent-llm-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Skype session for students interested in studying the Kent LLM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Students considering a Master&#8217;s in Law are invited to put their\u00a0questions to\u00a0current Kent LLM students via Skype on Wednesday 9\u00a0March.<\/p>\n<p>Student Ambassadors will be available to take questions\u00a0about studying the Kent LLM (the\u00a0one-year taught Master&#8217;s in Law\u00a0at Kent Law School) between 1.30pm \u2013 3.30pm (UK time) with possible topics\u00a0for discussion\u00a0including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>their experience of studying the Kent LLM<\/li>\n<li>the course structure and teaching<\/li>\n<li>accommodation (both on and off campus)<\/li>\n<li>the Pre-LLM Summer School<\/li>\n<li>fees and available funding<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To book a Skype session, send an email to klspgoffice@kent.ac.uk, including your full name, application reference number (if appropriate) and Skype name.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/index.html\">Kent LLM<\/a> attracts excellent law graduates from around the world and is also open to non-law graduates with an appropriate academic or professional background who wish to develop an advanced understanding of law in their field.<\/p>\n<p>Students have the opportunity to develop specialisms in a host of subject areas including: Criminal Justice; Environmental Law; European Law; International Commercial Law; International Criminal Justice; International Environmental Law; International Law with International Relations; International Law; Medical Law and Ethics; and Human Rights Law. The innovative nature of the programme means that students have the option to leave their choice of specialism open until after they arrive, with their specialisms being determined by the modules that they select.<\/p>\n<p>Details of modules are available on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/index.html\">our website<\/a>\u00a0and an insight into the student experience can be gained by reading the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/klsllm\/\">Mastering Law<\/a> blog.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have already decided to apply for the Kent LLM beginning in September 2016 can also still apply for a taught master&#8217;s scholarship paying tuition fees at either the Home\/EU or overseas rate. Applications for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/overseas.htm\">Taught Master&#8217;s Overseas Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0close on Monday 14 March 2016 and applications for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/postgraduate\/taught\/eu.html\">Taught Master&#8217;s Home\/EU Scholarship<\/a>\u00a0close on Friday 6 May 2016. All scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>For students without scholarships, a new system of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/law\/news\/index.html?view=1306\">postgraduate loans for Master\u2019s degrees<\/a> in the UK has been introduced for the 2016-17 academic year. Available to home and EU students for both full-time and part-time study, the new loans will provide up to \u00a310,000 a year for taught and research Master\u2019s courses in all subject areas.
