Open to anyone interested in studying law, this free programme offers a taste of the legal topics you can study as part of a law degree at university. 29 June – Law in action: Kent Law Clinic <\/strong>with Graham Tegg and Clinic Solicitors<\/h4>\n

This year, we start by focusing on the work of Kent Law Clinic<\/a>. Our Clinic Solicitors will explore Law in action by considering the case work of the Clinic, the skills developed by our students and how they connect to the rest of their studies. WATCH BACK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

6 July – Law in the making: Homelessness<\/strong> with Dr Carin Tunaker and Vivien Gambling<\/h4>\n

We then continue to highlight some of the topics that are studied within our optional law modules as well as the compulsory, foundational legal subjects. Dr Carin Tunaker<\/a> and Vivien Gambling<\/a> will be exploring Law in the making with a spotlight on homelessness. WATCH BACK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

13 July – Law in our hands: Juries and criminal damage<\/strong> with Dr Allison Holmes and Dr Antonia Porter<\/h4>\n

This is followed by\u00a0Dr Allison Holmes<\/a> and Dr Antonia Porter<\/a> considering Law in our hands by thinking about the role of jurors in criminal trials, using the offence of criminal damage as an interesting, topical example. WATCH BACK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

During these informative and interactive webinars you can learn from experts in\u00a0their field. Indeed, research at Kent Law School has been ranked second<\/a> in the UK by the Times Higher Education, following the results of the Research Excellence Framework (REF).<\/p>\n

These webinars promise to be just as stimulating as our previous webinars from the past three years, which are available on the Kent Law School YouTube channel.<\/a> It is fun to participate in the live webinars, but you can also watch previous sessions covering diverse issues such as the legal ramifications of artificial intelligence used in policing, who our judges are and why it matters, whether it is right that a jury should be told about the previous misconduct of a defendant and matters arising in\u00a0immigration law, human rights, legal ethics and intellectual property.<\/p>\n
