Tell us a little about yourself:<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019ve been at the University since 2012, and in my current role since 2016. I love my job because I get to work with lots of people within Student Support and get a good understanding of all the services this team offers, as well as liaising with colleagues across the university and even outside it. It\u2019s a busy and varied role in which I\u2019m using and building lots of different skills.<\/p>\n What apprenticeship are you undertaking, and what made you decide to do so?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n I\u2019m doing a Digital Marketing apprenticeship with SR Education. I decided to take up an apprenticeship in order to further develop my skills and qualifications in digital marketing, which is becoming an increasingly large part of my role.<\/p>\n What is it like doing an apprenticeship?<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n It\u2019s an interesting way to learn \u2013 meeting with colleagues with similar job roles across the university once a month and doing some personal study in between sessions. What would you say to someone thinking of undertaking an apprenticeship?<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n I would recommend it to anyone looking for a new way to engage with aspects of their job that could benefit from further learning, and a free qualification is always a good thing!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Loretta Izod is your Employee Apprenticeship Manager
\nHow is it helping you?
\nIt gives me a framework to keep exploring new ideas and put them into practice, and a network of people to go to for advice and feedback. It\u2019s a prompt to put new theories into practice rather than attending a training session and thinking \u2018that might be good to try\u2019 and then forgetting about it.<\/p>\n
