My journey brought me to Kent 2 years ago this month, as I was appointed to undertake a project to explore the use of the Apprenticeship Levy and how it could be utilised at Kent.<\/p>\n

Last year my role became permanent and I am now the Employee Apprenticeship Manager. Simply putting it –\u00a0I am all things Apprenticeships; promoting Apprenticeships to existing\u00a0staff of all job roles and positions, supporting managers to recruit an Apprentice, sourcing training providers, monitoring the levy spend, reporting the progress of Apprentices and being a support to anyone that needs it.<\/p>\n

As part of the L&OD team, I have also had the opportunity to be involved in the development of a new Career Pathways programme for Professional Services staff. We\u00a0are just launching the second cohort and I have really enjoyed meeting and supporting everyone from the first cohort and seeing\u00a0the positive outcomes it has given the participants.<\/p>\n

My\u00a0favourite part of\u00a0the role is meeting people from all areas of Kent, and them being surprised how many Apprenticeships are available, how it can really make a good impact to their career development and seeing the University benefit from this.<\/p>\n

An Interesting fact about me is that I love photography. I have an Instagram account and\u00a0I have some really nice “likes & comments” on my pics, even from the odd celeb.\u00a0 I love taking floral, landscape, animal photos and living in Folkestone with view of the channel, I make of most of that too. Here at Kent we are seeing more and more teams supporting existing colleagues through an Apprenticeship as well as recruiting new employees as Apprentices. During 2019 we aim to have over 100 employees considering and up taking the opportunity of doing an Apprenticeship in one of the many career occupations.<\/p>\n
