{"id":2915,"date":"2019-09-20T13:58:13","date_gmt":"2019-09-20T12:58:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/ksa\/?p=2915"},"modified":"2019-09-20T14:12:27","modified_gmt":"2019-09-20T13:12:27","slug":"chloe-street-tarbatt-wins-riai-silver-medal-for-abbeyleix-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/ksa\/2019\/09\/20\/chloe-street-tarbatt-wins-riai-silver-medal-for-abbeyleix-library\/","title":{"rendered":"Chloe Street-Tarbatt wins RIAI Silver Medal for Abbeyleix Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The RIAI Silver Medal is the highest award for buildings that have undergone a process of conservation and is awarded to the architectural practice by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.riai.ie\/news\/article\/historic_buildings_in_cork_laois_and_longford_all_receive_top_award_for_con\">Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland<\/a>, several years after the completion of the project so that the success of the building can be confirmed by the passage of time. This year\u2019s medals were announced at a ceremony in Dublin yesterday, 19<sup>th<\/sup> September, and were awarded for projects completed in 2005-2007, 2008-2010 and 2011-2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/architecture-planning\/people\/1091\/street-tarbatt-chloe\">Chloe Street-Tarbatt<\/a>, BA (Hons) Architecture Programme Director, was the Project Architect for Abbeyleix Library which was awarded the RIAI Silver Medal for 2008-2010. She worked closely with the partner in charge, Shane de Blacam, over a period of four years (2005-2009) to bring this project to fruition.
