{"id":1391,"date":"2016-02-05T16:09:59","date_gmt":"2016-02-05T16:09:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/ksa\/?p=1391"},"modified":"2017-01-16T16:11:31","modified_gmt":"2017-01-16T16:11:31","slug":"ma-architectural-visualisation-students-exhibition-at-the-gulbenkian","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/ksa\/2016\/02\/05\/ma-architectural-visualisation-students-exhibition-at-the-gulbenkian\/","title":{"rendered":"MA Architectural Visualisation students&#8217; exhibition at The Gulbenkian"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Photography is often considered a complementary field to architecture; the two areas inextricably linked through philosophy, theory and practice.\u00a0 The developments of both forms of art have grown and developed alongside each other.\u00a0 It is a poetic relationship that goes to the roots of photography.\u00a0 It is not coincidental that the first recorded photograph included a view of the form and space of and around architecture.\u00a0 An understanding of the processes of composition, framing and most essentially the control of light are inherent aspects of both disciplines.<\/p>\n<p>Through the module AR846: Architectural Photography, the MA Architectural Visualisation programme at the Kent School of Architecture develops students\u2019 critical awareness of the architectural image, allowing them to apply this understanding to their digitally created imagery and visualisations.\u00a0 Studied during the autumn term, the architectural photography module provides students the opportunity to learn both traditional film and digital photographic techniques.\u00a0 The collection of images displayed here is the conclusion of this work.
