Kent School of Architecture and Planning (KSAP) are excited to announce the launch of the new Postgraduate Diploma in Architectural Practice. This programme enables students to complete their professional training and follows the ARB’s criteria for Part 3, thereby enabling graduates who have completed all three examinations to apply for professional registration as Architects in the UK. We are seeking ARB prescription and RIBA validation.
The PGDip in Architectural Practice draws on the academic and professional knowledge of staff at the Kent School of Architecture and Planning and will explore alternative building procurement strategies, reflecting innovative practice based on published sources and the teaching team’s personal experience. UK practice will be presented in a wider International context, meeting the rigorous criteria of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) and equipping graduates to work in a wide range of professional roles and environments.
The course will be delivered in two blocks each compromising of three full days of teaching at our Canterbury campus. The first half of the course comprises of four lecture-based modules delivered in two block study sessions.
These modules will cover:
- Professionalism, Clients, Users and the Delivery of Services
- Legal Frameworks and Processes
- Practice and Management
- Building Procurement
The remaining half of the course comprises of a case study, based on the student’s current professional experience, with a reflective self-appraisal and extended CV.
