We’re excited to have Dr Jason R.C. Nurse, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Cyber Security at the University of Kent’s Institute of Cybersecurity for Society on board for our upcoming HR Conference 2021.
In his talk, Jason will centre on the topic of cyber security to explore the various concerns arising due to remote working during and since the pandemic. As he explains, “COVID-19 has radically changed society as we know it. To reduce the spread of the virus, millions across the globe were forced to work remotely, often in make-shift home offices, and using a plethora of new, unfamiliar digital technologies.”
The talk will consider the nature of remote working, and how it poses unique challenges in the context of cyber security. Jason will also discuss the new security risks emerging because of issues such as lack of remote-working security training, heightened stress and anxiety, and rushed technology deployment. Finally, he will reflect on the employee privacy issues that arise as employers look to use remote workplace monitoring software to manage these and other risks posed by their remote workforces.
Come along to the HR Conference 2021 to join Jason’s talk and attend other HR-themed sessions on Wednesday 24th November from 9:30am to 2pm.
Tickets are priced at £20.
