Oliver Trailor with his award

The University would like to congratulate History graduate Oliver Trailer, who was named Entrepreneur of the Year with his company Runway Training at the recent Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce (KICC) Annual Business Awards.

Also shortlisted in this category were Reflect Digital’s Becky Simms, who is part of Kent Business School’s International Advisory Board, and Laura Bounds of Kent Crisps, who is also on the International Advisory Board and is an Aspire Mentor in the Business School.

The KICC Annual Business Awards brings the Kent business community together to showcase the broad range of achievements by businesses and talented individuals. The awards attract a wide range of entries from across a variety of sectors, but the finalists and winners all have one thing in common, they are truly excellent at what they do and have proved this in their entry.

The evening was a huge success for all that attended across a great breadth of categories, including the University-sponsored Business of the Year and the Research and Innovation Services-sponsored Innovative Business of the Year.

Carole Barron, Director of Knowledge Exchange & Innovation at the University and Honorary President of Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce said: ‘This event has been a fantastic demonstration of the regional connectivity the University of Kent has with such vital institutions as the Chamber of Commerce, and with the broad breadth of  integral businesses across the county they call home. Enormous congratulations to Runway Training’s Oliver Trailer, and to all the other winners and shortlisted individuals that make Kent’s business scene so remarkable.’
