The Kent HR Network presents the HR Conference 2020

Employee Engagement and Productivity

University of Kent hosts its annual Human Resources Conference 2020 sponsored by HR GO recruitment, part of the Kent Human Resources Network. Tickets are on sale for this virtual event taking place on the 20th November 2020.

The Kent HR Network, sponsored by HR GO, is an initiative focused on facilitating knowledge exchange between the academic community at the University of Kent and HR professionals, both locally and nationally.

Part of the Network is the opportunity to attend this year’s HR Conference, which, focuses on Employee Engagement and Productivity. This annual event brings together HR professionals from the University and surrounding community to discuss best practice, new ways of engaging with employees and the challenges posed by the current Covid-19 pandemic.

From John Parkinson, CTO HR GO plc

“It is an honour and a pleasure to sponsor the Kent HR Network Conference. We have established close ties with the University of Kent over recent years, collaborating on research and supporting their student Employability Points programme, so it is great to build on this by getting involved with this standard of the Kent HR professionals’ calendar.

“In 2020 the workforce is understandably facing a lot of challenges with disruption and anxiety caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The theme of the conference, Employee Engagement and Productivity, will have a special resonance as companies seek to adapt their people management to the new environment. We see already that increased use of technology and digital services are key to achieving this in as people-friendly a way as possible.

“We are really looking forward to being part of the event on the 20th November.”

Confirmed topics include: job satisfaction, the perils of group decision-making, applying artificial intelligence, well-being in HR and a HR GO surgery on recruitment giving you one-to-one recruitment advice, with more exciting topics to be confirmed soon.

We have a number of academic expert speakers from Kent Business School, Psychology, School of Arts and Computer Science with closing statements from Professor Shane Weller, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation.

Introducing HR business expertise from John Parkinson, Chief Information Officer at HR GO, Amrit Sandhar, Founder of the Engagement Coach, Wayne Clarke, Co-Founder of the Global Growth Institute, Tony Adams Operations Director at HR GO supported by brand managers, and Scott Maynard from Group People Director at The Go-Ahead Group.

Dr Dawn Nicholson, Lecturer in Business and Organisational Psychology at the University of Kent

“From its inception back in 2015 this has become one of the most important events in the HR calendar in the South East of England. The conference brings together the brightest and best of academic thinking, coupled with unique insights from outstanding practitioners in the field of HR. It’s this which makes attending this conference such a valuable experience.

Coming as it does at this moment in time, when we face the joint challenges of COVID-19 and Brexit, this conference presents a fantastic opportunity to hear up to the minute thinking and Insights AND network (virtually of course!) with colleagues and peers from academia and the HR profession.”

There will be opportunities for questions with each speaker and breakout sessions for attendees to choose from.

Tickets are priced at £49, with a special rate for University of Kent Students and Registered Charities.
