I Do Marketing with Lydia Mckeown

International Women’s Day

I caught up with founder of ‘I Do Marketing’ and EP sponsor Lydia Mckeown to talk about what International Women’s Day means to a successful marketing business woman.

What pushed you to found ‘I Do Marketing’?

I longed to be my own boss and be in control of my future the only way I saw this as possible was through running my own business.

What is your greatest achievement with the company?

Being runner up for Kent Women In Business awards and hopefully one day I’ll win!! Honestly though everyday I’m grateful I’m able to do what I do – We’re very lucky to be able to live and have the opportunities to build businesses, further our educations and travel!

What does the future of I Do Marketing look like in your eyes?

Supporting local businesses to achieve their marketing goals, supporting charities locally and building an agency with a fantastic reputation.

What is the biggest challenge within the world of marketing?

That it is ever evolving – it’s a challenge and an opportunity every single day – I love it!

What does the International Women’s Day theme #EachforEqual mean to you?

It’s a Celebration of everyone together helping to give equality in circumstances we’ve previously experienced as bot equal. This isn’t just a day for women but a day of celebration for women.

Do you find that there a gender bias in the marketing world?

Oo this is a tough one – probably yes but it’s not a race – the world is a changing place and so I feel days like International Women’s Day #EachforEqual helps us move closer to a fairer world generally!!
