Whether that\u2019s from your academic tutor, a student mentor, or university services, there are many options you can turn to. We asked our undergraduates what they think about the support they\u2019ve had.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll my lecturers are really nice. If you\u2019re struggling with anything, or have any questions, they\u2019re always available to help you. You can email them and they\u2019re happy for you to ask questions during the lectures. They\u2019re not going to be annoyed if you interrupt them! And, at the end, they\u2019re happy to stay behind and talk things through with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Olivia Keers, Chemistry MChem<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe lecturers are really friendly. The School of Engineering and Digital Arts is a small school so because of that you get all the attention that you need. You don\u2019t have to wait a long time to get responses from people. I think the support in EDA is very, very good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ayo Rajitola, Computer Systems Engineering<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvery single member of the team genuinely cares about your education and wants you to succeed\u2026They treat students as colleagues\u2026and, because the Centre [for Journalism] is quite small, everybody knows everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jamie Long, Journalism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have our academic advisers who are very easy to contact\u2026they\u2019re more than willing to help you if you\u2019re getting stuck on a subject.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Catriona Eade, Digital Arts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-2223 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentstudents\/files\/2020\/11\/Generic-support-image-1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLecturers and students know each other on a personal level and it is very easy to reach out and gain support with regards to studies. I have attended numerous optional workshops alongside my course which are aimed at improving study skills for success for example essay and report technique workshops.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tim Carnell, Business and Management<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe academic support and wellbeing support are really good. I had an academic peer mentor\u2026any my academic adviser was really helpful. The Student Learning Advisory Service can help you with academic writing and essay planning.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Abigail Spanner, Classical &amp; Archaeological Studies and Comparative Literature<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur lecturers try to set up opportunities for us however they can, to ensure we\u2019re getting as much support as we need. If I need a hand or some advice, I can book a meeting with them and they\u2019ll try to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Angel Lawson, Music Performance and Production<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI took a course in essay writing that was useful in preparing me for university-style academic writing.
