{"id":9834,"date":"2026-09-16T10:57:36","date_gmt":"2026-09-16T09:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/?p=9834"},"modified":"2026-09-16T12:02:18","modified_gmt":"2026-09-16T11:02:18","slug":"vice-chancellors-cup-2025-2026-round-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/vice-chancellors-cup-2025-2026-round-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Vice Chancellor\u2019s Cup 2025-2026 Round Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">The Vice-Chancellor\u2019s Cup (VC\u2019s Cup) has once again brought staff together from across the University for a tournament of fun, friendly and inclusive competition.<\/p>\n<p>The VC\u2019s Cup is an inter-departmental tournament for University of Kent staff, giving departments from across the University the opportunity to compete against one another in a wide variety of games, sports and activities.<\/p>\n<h3>2025\u201326 Overview<\/h3>\n<p>The competition ran from January to September 2026, with events taking place every few weeks. Nine teams battled it out in this year\u2019s VC\u2019s Cup, with teams representing a fantastic range of directorates, including Campus Services, Information Technology Services, Student Life, Governance and Assurance, Strategic Planning and Business Development and Research.<\/p>\n<p>From korfball to board games, and archery tag to pickleball, there was something for everyone to get involved in, regardless of their level of sporting experience.<\/p>\n<p>A particular highlight of the year was a trip to Boom Battle Bar, where staff enjoyed an action-packed evening of pub games, followed by the annual It\u2019s a Knockout event, which tested everyone\u2019s teamwork and communication skills through a series of fun challenges.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2026\/09\/54971645618_a9fafe4f28_o.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9857\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2026\/09\/54971645618_a9fafe4f28_o.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"5639\" height=\"3759\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The inclusion of board games and sports day challenges in the spring proved to be a crowd favourite once again, giving staff the opportunity to take part in a range of fun and inclusive activities. We would love to see your department get involved!<\/p>\n<p>There will be lots of new activities and challenges to try, alongside some familiar favourites. Take part in as many or as few as you like.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How to get involved?<\/h3>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">We welcome both <strong>new and existing teams<\/strong> to get involved in the VC\u2019s Cup.
