{"id":9713,"date":"2026-06-30T15:27:36","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T14:27:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/?p=9713"},"modified":"2026-06-30T15:29:54","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T14:29:54","slug":"vc-cup-rounders-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/vc-cup-rounders-2\/","title":{"rendered":"VC Cup Rounders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Staff from across departments came together for two action packed evenings on Tuesday and Thursday for the latest VC Cup event, with a fun and social rounders competition that saw teams battle it out for\u00a0crucial points in the\u00a0VC Cup standings.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For everyone to be involved, participants were divided into two large teams on each evening, creating an inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere with plenty of chances to bat and field. A \u2018hit and run\u2019 batting rule added extra excitement creating some funny and chaotic moments throughout both days. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">There were fantastic fielding performances on display across the event, with several impressive catches helping teams limit scoring and keeping matches very closely contested. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">After the two days of entertaining rounders, Flu Fighters\u00a0emerged\u00a0as the standout team, winning three matches to finish as the overall VC Cup Rounders Champions. Several teams were hot on their heels\u00a0also, with BDR, Last Ones Standing,\u00a0Ctrl+Alt+Win, Marlowe\u2019s, Winter Soldiers, and Liquorice All Sports all recording two victories each.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A massive thank you to everyone who got involved and helped make the event so fun!
