With 13 teams in attendance and 5 rounds of questions, our tournament attendees were in for a treat.

The evening began with an opening ceremony, providing introductions, the layout for the evening, and laying out some ground rules, before rolling into the first awards giving, celebrating the achievements of Infomaniacs and DoNATS for their wins at ‘’It’s a Knockout’’, ‘’Pickleball’’ and ‘’Dodgeball’’ earlier on in the tournament. And with that, we began the Quiz.

The first round had our teams head scratching about the news from this past year, kicking things off with a 2025 round. Where teams were challenged with questions such as ‘’What name did Robert Francis Prevost take after becoming Pope in May?’’, testing their knowledge of current events and highlighting truly how quick this past year has flown by, as we inch closer to 2026. After 11 questions it was time for a second lot of awards, casting our memories back to ‘’Benchball’’, ‘’Nerf’’ and ‘’Goalball’’, where we congratulated Return of the Mac and Infomaniacs on their wins.

The second round tested our player’s general knowledge, mixing in a range of questions from history, literature, science and film. Can you remember who wrote the book ‘’War and Peace’’? Multiple teams gambled to play their jokers this round, doubling their points at the end of the round. After a quick switch amongst the teams to mark their answers, the third set of awards were given, celebrating Infomaniacs in their winning streak in ‘’School Sports Day’’, ’’Board Games’’ and ‘’Pub Games’’ at Boom Battle Bar.

Round three was to test the teams how well they know themselves and others, in the VC Cup round, where they were challenged with questions regarding the tournament over the past year. Quizzing them on their fellow team’s names, what challenges and games they were given at different events, and the life long question ‘’Why is everyone hula hooping?’’. This round highlighted how much they’ve all achieved throughout the tournament, and all the fun that came along with it. The next set of awards was to recognise the winners of ‘’Rounders’’, ‘’Boccia’’, and ‘’Garden Games’’. Celebrating their wins were Infomaniacs, DoNATS and Ins and Outs for Rounders, Marlowe’s Marauders for Boccia, and Liquorice All Sports for Garden Games.

Round four, the Picture Round! Teams were presented with a series of images, challenged to guess the names of the sweets, tv shows, actors, films, crisps, cartoon characters, and the country represented by food, cultural and geographical landmarks. Some were easy, some were presented with more difficulty, as teams drew themselves closer to the screens to catch a better glimpse.

The final round of the Quiz, and of the tournament as a whole, was the Music Round! Teams were presented with the task of guessing the correct song title and artist to earn a single point. Some classic songs such as ‘’Take On Me’’ by A-ha had the whole room singing along. 12 songs of wide variety later, the Quiz drew to a close, as we counted up the scores.

It was our honour to announce that in joint third place, sharing 55 points, we have;

3rd.
