For another exciting event in the VC Cup, 15 teams battled it out in pickleball! Over two lunchtimes teams played quick 3 minute doubles games in a round robin tournament.<\/p>\n
Day one saw 15 teams split into 2 round robin tournaments to establish their standings for day two. In the first session, eight teams (DoNats, Chipperfield Circus, Flu Fighters, Living La Vida Mocha, Marlowe\u2019s Marauders, Ins and Outs, Regulatory Rebels, PR Pirates, RISistence is Futile) went head to head in a competitive and fun tournament. \u00a0\u00a0The DoNATS gave themselves a strong points lead by \u00a0winning seven of eight games, giving them an amazing score of 21 points! Chipperfield Circus followed closely behind with 6 wins and a very strong 18 points, putting them at 2nd<\/sup>. Living La Vida Mocha and Flu Fighters both had solid performances with 5 wins each, however a draw and two losses by Flu Fighters compared to Living La Vida Mocha\u2019s 3 losses saw Flu Fighters narrowly edge out their competition for 3rd<\/sup> place in their session on day one.<\/p>\n The second session also saw one particular team dominating, with the Campus Sporting Exploits winning 6 of 7 games and earning themselves 18 points, putting them at the top of their table. SPPecials also put themselves in the top three with 5 wins, a draw and a loss. Liquorice All Sports , represented by 3 enthusiastic Kent Sport staff, finished in 3rd<\/sup> place with 4 wins, a draw, and a loss.<\/p>\n Day two had teams based on the standings from day 1. The top eight teams after day one (Infomaniacs, DoNats, Campus Sporting Exploits, Chipperfield Circus, SPPecials, U Bunch O\u2019 Kents, Flu Fighters, Liquorice All Sports, Living La Vida Mocha) battled it out to see who would be the overall victor in an intense session of pickleball.\u00a0 The Infomaniacs (represented by one very skilled player!) \u00a0were only managed to be defeated once, putting them in the first place position, with 15 points and an astonishing points difference of 42! DoNATS, also won all but one game, tying them with Infomaniacs for a day two total of 15 points, but the Infomaniacs staggering points difference left DoNats in second place overall. Campus Sporting Exploits and Chipperfield Circus both managed to have 4 wins and 2 losses, tying them at 12 points each for the second day, however Campus Sporting Exploits points difference of 20 compared to Chipperfield\u2019s 5, put them in third place.<\/p>\n The lower ranked teams battled it out for points with most teams being neck and neck with 4 or 5 wins each. A strong performance by Ins and Outs of 5 wins gave them 16 points for the day. Just narrowly behind was RISistence is Futile with 4 wins and 15 points. Return of the MAC and Marlowe\u2019s Marauders were both able to gain 13 points for the day, but Return of the MAC\u2019s points difference of 12 and Marlowe\u2019s 6 put them into third place. They were then followed by Keepers of the Keys, Regulatory Rebels, PR Pirates and Sofa Sitters.<\/p>\n Congratulations to the Infomaniacs for winning VC Cup Pickleball and securing 20 event points for the second consecutive year! In second place was DoNATS, gaining 19 points,\u00a0 followed by Campus Sporting Exploits in third earning 18 points.
