{"id":7477,"date":"2023-06-01T13:52:40","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T12:52:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/?p=7477"},"modified":"2025-10-28T09:48:53","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T09:48:53","slug":"vice-chancellors-cup-highlights-golf","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/vice-chancellors-cup-highlights-golf\/","title":{"rendered":"Vice Chancellor&#8217;s Cup highlights: Golf"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Challenge nine of the VC&#8217;s Cup saw teams compete in a &#8216;tee-rific&#8217; series of golf challenges, including disc golf, foot golf and mini-golf, with each team driving for success.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Teams were required to put forward three players to represent their team in each of the three golf challenges. The Sports Development team raised the &#8216;par&#8217;, using the Pavilion grass pitches to design a mini-golf course and a largescale course, which was used for both disc and foot golf. Adding to the intensity of the games, the weather conditions were grey and windy, making it more difficult for the disc golfers. However, all players involved &#8216;putt&#8217; their hearts into it and had a go!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2023\/06\/25.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7480\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2023\/06\/25.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"600\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Disc Golf<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This included 5 holes and saw Liquorice All Sports and Marlowe\u2019s Marauders a &#8216;putt&#8217; above the rest, sharing 1<sup>st<\/sup> place in this challenge. DoNATS, Living La Vida Mocha and Finance grappled with a 3-team tie, to take 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place and Campus Sporting Exploits finished 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foot Golf<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Players used their foot skills to navigate 5 holes, with Living La Vida Mocha&#8217;s &#8216;par-serverance&#8217; earning them the top spot. Liquorice All Sports and Kent Be Serious drew in 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place ahead of another 3-team tie for 3<sup>rd<\/sup> place between DoNATS, Marlowe\u2019s Marauders and Happy Ravers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mini-golf <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This saw teams tackle 9 holes, with Liquorice All Sports having the best game by &#8216;par&#8217;, once again drawing for 1st place, this time with Campus Sporting Exploits. This was closely followed by another tie between DoNATS and Kent Be Serious in 2<sup>nd<\/sup> with Happy Ravers finishing 3<sup>rd<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rounding up<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A massive thank you to all teams who participated in this &#8216;un-fore-gettable&#8217; event. The willingness everyone showed to get involved and give it a go was &#8216;tee-riffic&#8217;. Great team spirit and camaraderie from everyone &#8211; it doesn&#8217;t get much putter than this!<\/p>\n<p>As we progress through the Vice Chancellor&#8217;s Cup, the leaderboard has become fluid and tense. This round of golf has again shifted in top teams, moving Liquorice AllSports back up to 2nd place, just 1 point behind the leaders, Living La Vida Mocha.
