As each month passes, we inch closer and closer to the main event: crowning the Vice-Chancellor&#8217;s Cup champion.<\/p>\n<p>For the newbies, here&#8217;s some background about the VC Cup. Introduced in 2011, The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sports\/featuredevents\/vicechancellorscup.html\">Vice-Chancellor&#8217;s Cup<\/a> is an interdepartmental staff competition for anyone and everyone who&#8217;s interested in keeping active, but also wants to have fun in a relaxed environment.<\/p>\n<p>For this past week&#8217;s event, various staff members from across the Canterbury campus put on their game face. But this wasn&#8217;t just some ordinary competition \u2013 it all came down to teamwork. Bringing back fond memories of school, the VC Cup Sports Day proved to be one extraordinary event.<\/p>\n<p>From welly tossing to three-legged racing to over and under, it was quite a sight. The days were filled with cheering, lots of laughter and maybe a few expletives.<\/p>\n<p>So, how are the teams stacking up?<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the 2013 champions,\u00a0<strong>Uniquely Essentials<\/strong> from Kent Union Retail,\u00a0are still in the lead.\u00a0<strong>Kent &#8216;B&#8217; Serious<\/strong> has just slid into second place, but <strong>Biocelona<\/strong> is hot on their trail with only a one-point separation. The top three are keeping their eye on the prize, but could an underdog scoop in and come out on top?\u00a0The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sports\/featuredevents\/vicechancellorscup.html\">VC Cup webpage<\/a> will be updated regularly, especially after an event, so check back often to see how the teams are faring.<\/p>\n<p>The next event will be the Bat and Trap, held on Tuesday 22 to Friday 25 July.
