As part of a day of activities a team of staff footballers will kick off at midday in memory of the legendary \u2018Christmas Truce Football Match\u2019 which took place during the First World War over 100 years ago.\u00a0 The football game is part of a full programme of activities that includes guest lectures and the launch of the Peace Ride Cycle Challenge in March 2019. To \u00a0view the full programme, please visit\u00a0https:\/\/footballfirstworldwar.eventbrite.co.uk.<\/a><\/p>\n The Peace Ride will see riders leave the University of Kent early on Saturday 23\u00a0March 2019 and ride as part of team to the Kent Coast before a short rest travelling across the channel before getting back in the saddle to ride to the Menin Gate Memorial in Ypres, Belgium.\u00a0 The fully supported ride includes all travel logistics, accommodation as well as an invitation to the Peace Village dinner and celebrations on Saturday evening.\u00a0 Riders will return on Sunday 24\u00a0March by supported transport back to the University having made a significant contribution to the charities cause.
