To this end we are one of many departments at the University of Kent that have signed up to the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eauc.org.uk\/green_impact\">Green Impact<\/a>\u00a0project and more information on the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/estates\/sustainability\/\" target=\"_blank\">University involvement may be found here.<\/a>\u00a0The\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Kent<\/a>\u00a0is a participating partner is this project.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Kent Sport\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sports\" target=\"_blank\">Kent Sport<\/a> has participated in the scheme in previous years and at the time of writing we have just submitted a workbook for the Green Impact assessment. We aim to make this a continuing process.<\/p>\n<p>Our initial activities centre around:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reducing energy consumption &#8211; utilising power saving features of newer devices<\/li>\n<li>Reducing paper consumption &#8211; duplex printing and other initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Reducing usage of heating and air conditioning &#8211; posters and education are helping here<\/li>\n<li>Recycling &#8211; everything we can! (paper, cardboard, batteries, bottles, cans etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Many other smaller initiatives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Participation in this project inspires ongoing improvement to our environmental credentials.
