Organised in partnership with Sporting Events UK, the inaugural event last year proved popular.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2015\/03\/ks_20140519_105825_000003.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1025\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1025 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2015\/03\/ks_20140519_105825_000003-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"ks_20140519_105825_000003\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>A fantastic route, starting at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sports\/index.html\">Kent Sport<\/a>\u00a0Pavilion and using some of the historic \u201cCrab and Winkle Way\u201d through the countryside adjacent to\u00a0the Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be Easter activities for all the family, making this a great day out. The Pavilion has changing facilities, and a good selection of refreshments and food \u2013 there\u2019s even a balcony with seating overlooking the start and finish of the race!<\/p>\n<p>Suitable for all abilities from beginners to elite. Electronic timing chips\/transponders will be used at this\u00a0event. All results will be available at end of the race and will be submitted to UKA and runbritain for inclusion in record and rankings.\u00a0There will also be finishers medal for all those completing the race, plus category and team prizes!<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2015\/03\/ks_20140519_105725_000054.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1024\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-1024 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/files\/2015\/03\/ks_20140519_105725_000054-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"ks_20140519_105725_000054\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The event is open to University of Kent students, staff, alumni and the public. To book your place on the University of Kent Official Canterbury 10km run, visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sportingeventsuk.com\/enterevent\/canterbury10k\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sporting Event UK website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in this event will support student sport at the University of Kent through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/sports\/p100\" target=\"_blank\">Project 100<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h5>Volunteers needed!<\/h5>\n<p>We are looking for volunteers to help marshal the course.\u00a0\u00a0 Each volunteer will receive a free coffee and bacon roll from The Pavilion Caf\u00e9 \/ Bar during the pre-event briefing at 9:30am.\u00a0If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer please email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:barry@sportingeventsuk.com\">barry@sportingeventsuk.com<\/a>\u00a0as soon as possible.
