Wednesday 2 December\u00a0saw the first ever Kent Sport Santa Run, which took place at The Pavilion, and it is fair to say it was a great success!<\/p>\n
Nearly 100 runners took part in the 3km run, most of them\u00a0sporting festive outfits and Christmas attire, which created\u00a0an\u00a0incredible\u00a0atmosphere between the runners and volunteers. There was\u00a0the added support of\u00a0local school children from Blean Primary and Oak\u2019s Nursery cheering on each runner as they passed.<\/p>\n
Prizes were awarded to the first male and female finisher as well as the best dressed participant. Kent Sport would like to congratulate Morten Fransen as the first male finisher with the awesome time of 11 minutes 57 seconds. Morten also entered into the spirit of Christmas and the event by donating his lucky dip prize to two children who had come out to support their dad.<\/p>\n
We would also like to congratulate Mathilde Formet as the first female finisher who zoomed around the course in a time of 14 minutes and 9 seconds. Mathilde was closely followed by Kent Sport\u2019s very own physiotherapist Vicky Annis, who completed the course in a very respectable 14 minutes and 11 seconds.<\/p>\n
Manuel Marques took home the best dressed prize on the day donning (quite possibly) the best sporty Santa outfit we\u2019d ever seen.<\/p>\n
Kent Sport would like to take the opportunity to thank all of our runners and supporters for coming out and making the event such a success. Each runner contributed \u00a32 which Kent Sport will be donating to charity.<\/p>\n
We would also like to thank all of the staff and volunteers who gave up their time to help ensure the event ran so smoothly.
