{"id":1245,"date":"2015-06-03T14:40:59","date_gmt":"2015-06-03T13:40:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/?p=1245"},"modified":"2015-06-03T14:40:59","modified_gmt":"2015-06-03T13:40:59","slug":"alumni-return-to-enjoy-sport-at-the-then-vs-now-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kentsport-news\/alumni-return-to-enjoy-sport-at-the-then-vs-now-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Alumni return to enjoy sport at the Then vs. Now event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kent Sport and Kent Union welcomed back alumni to participate in a variety of sports to help celebrate the university\u2019s 50<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary year with the Then vs Now sports event on 23 May.<\/p>\n<p>Participants included individuals dating back to 2007 and alumni travelled from as far as Dubai to reach their old stomping ground at the Canterbury campus.<\/p>\n<p>The Inter College 5-a-side was won by a Darwin Towers alumni team, who emerged victorious over one of the three Keynes F.C. alumni teams who were present on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Neither side could be separated in normal time and so penalties were required, with Towers edging the spot kicks 5-4.
