Enhance your studies with Kent Business School’s Summer School

Learn how to do Global Business in a Dynamic Environment

Paul Dyer

Whether you’re looking to continue your business studies throughout the summer, branch out from your current course or experience a new setting and way of learning, Kent Business School’s (KBS) summer school programme is a fantastic option.

Several schools across the University of Kent offer two-week Summer School programmes based at the Canterbury Campus. The KBS programme, ‘Global Business in a Dynamic Environment’, provides a superb opportunity to you (even if you’re not from a business background) to learn about the new context of international business from expert professors and businesses based in the UK, the USA and Germany.

The programme itself offers a detailed overview of the linkages between domestic and international activities and economies, as well as the major protagonists such as high-profile institutions. Course content draws heavily on the latest research and topics discussed at high-level meetings such as the Annual Meeting of the Academy of International Business. With the current global economic climate heating up thanks to seismic shifts in trading relationships, such as Brexit and the looming US/China trade war, Russian aggression and a global refugee crisis, the themes covered are more pertinent than ever.

Whilst the KBS Summer School programme adds a new dimension to your regular studies, it is also a fantastic opportunity to experience Canterbury and its wider locality, and meet people from across the globe.

Within the Summer School programme, you will also benefit from trips, guided by University of Kent alumni, to the historic city of Canterbury, popular coastal town of Whitstable and even the UK’s capital, London. This mixture of local knowledge and with a cohort from around the world, the Summer School is a diverse and rewarding two-week stay offering both educational and cultural learning throughout.

Rama Taimour of the Middle East University, took part in the KBS ‘Global Business in a Dynamic Environment’ programme in 2017 and found it to be an enriching experience; “It is not only the course and the taught material that I enjoyed. I met a wonderful group of people and made friends from different countries, got to explore the beauty of Canterbury, Whitstable, and London through trips led by Kent’s student alumni, and got to experience what it was like to study at Master’s level at the University of Kent.”

There are a range of funding options available to those looking to take part in the KBS Summer School programme including scholarships and pay-for places which are offered at a discounted ‘early bird’ rate until Monday 16 April 2018.
