Want to support the student voice and experience within Kent Business School (KBS)? Get involved and come along to your termly KBS Student Voice Forum!  Whether you want to share feedback or just listen in, everyone is welcome.

These forums are a fantastic way to share your feedback and help shape the student voice and experience. They are open spaces where you can share your thoughts and contribute to creating real change within your school. Whether it’s about how your course is run, access to resources, or your wider experience here at Kent. This is your chance to be heard.

Your feedback helps staff understand what’s working and where things could be better. Together, we can improve teaching, facilities, support services, and much more across both our Canterbury and Medway campuses. So come along, get involved, and see how your voice can shape real change at Kent and within KBS. #YourUniYourSay

What is a Student Voice Forum?
Student Voice forums are informal and friendly spaces where students, representatives, academics, and staff come together to discuss a wide range of topics, from course concerns to campus life. You don’t need to be an expert, just bring your thoughts. Or if you prefer, you can ask your Student Rep to raise something on your behalf (even anonymously!).

Why should I attend a Student Voice Forum?
Your feedback matters. Student Voice Forums give you the chance to share your thoughts on what’s working, what’s not, and what could be better – directly with the people who can make change happen. Contributing to the Student Voice Forums is a great way to build confidence and develop valuable communication skills like public speaking, active listening, and teamwork. It’s a great opportunity to have your say about your KBS course, help shape wider University policies, connect with academics and fellow students, support your peers, and contribute to the student voice and experience.

What to expect at a Student Voice Forum?
The forum provides students with the opportunity to discuss and raise a variety of topics, as well as key updates from academic staff. Each forum is attended by a member of the Student Experience team, who is there to support both students and academic staff. There’s no need to take notes; the Student Experience team will minute the forum and send out a summary after the meeting, along with key actions. The team will then work on supporting any actions generated with the relevant academic staff and student reps.

How do I attend a Student Voice Forum?
You’ll receive a calendar invitation to the forum detailing how to join and the agenda. You don’t have to be a Student Rep to attend; however, if you want to raise feedback directly and represent other KBS students and their feedback, one of the best ways to do this is by signing up to become a KBS Student Rep. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable skills and support your school and fellow students. It means that other students can reach out to you with their feedback and questions. It’s also worth noting all the great rewards and recognition of becoming a Student Rep with Kent Students’ Union, including Employability Points and Student Rep of the Year Awards! But if it’s not for you – no pressure! Just come along as you are, and don’t forget you can raise any feedback with your school rep too. Click here to Find My Rep.

When is the next Student Voice Forum?
The Student Voice Forums take place once a term. You will find the dates for the forums published here on the blog newsfeed. Keep an eye on the page and your emails for the upcoming forum dates to be released. We look forward to seeing you there and working with you this academic year, supporting your student voice and improving your student experience here at Kent.
