A pioneer in artificial emotional intelligence (Emotion AI), Rana is Co-founder and CEO of Affectiva, an MIT Media Lab spinoff and author of  Girl Decoded.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9991 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2020\/12\/Rana-el-Kaliouby-approved-W-360x360.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2020\/12\/Rana-el-Kaliouby-approved-W-360x360.jpg 360w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2020\/12\/Rana-el-Kaliouby-approved-W-360x360-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/files\/2020\/12\/Rana-el-Kaliouby-approved-W-360x360-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/>Forbes recently included <a href=\"https:\/\/ranaelkaliouby.com\/\">Rana<\/a> in their list of America\u2019s &#8216;Top 50 Women in Tech&#8217;, Fortune Magazine included her in their 2018 &#8217;40 Under 40&#8242; and she was named one of the three Global Business pioneers by Bloomberg in 2017.<\/p>\n<p>As one of few women leading a disruptive global AI company, she speaks about innovation, women in technology, ethics in AI and leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Affectiva\u2019s award-winning Emotion AI technology is deployed in over 90 countries and sectors including automotive, education and healthcare to measure emotional responses to digital content.<\/p>\n<p>Commenting on Rana\u2019s joining the Summit, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\/people\/2412\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\/people\/2412\/garcia-marian\">Professor Marian Garcia<\/a>, Dean of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-school\">Kent Business School<\/a>, which co-organises the event, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cWe are delighted that Rana is joining the virtual Summit in 2021. As a school, we champion sustainable innovation which is an excellent fit with Rana\u2019s work in Emotion AI.
