Kent Business School (KBS) was represented at the BEIS-ERC LSBS Showcase Event on Thursday 19 September 2019.<\/p>\n
The Showcase Event<\/a> was hosted by Warwick Business School<\/a>, held at the Shard<\/a> in London.<\/p>\n The event was jointly sponsored by the Enterprise Research Centre<\/a> (ERC) and the Department of Business Energy and Industrial Strategy<\/a> (BEIS) who have funded work utilising the Longitudinal Small Business Survey<\/a> (LSBS).\u00a0 This was an opportunity for a number of researchers working on the data to present their findings.<\/p>\n Dr Catherine Robinson<\/a> (KBS<\/a>) presented a paper entitled,\u00a0 \u2018The Role of Innovation in Small Business Performance\u00a0\u00a0\u2013 A regional perspective\u2019. Based on a joint paper with Professor Marian Garcia<\/a>, Dr Guihan Ko<\/a> and Professor Jeremy Howells<\/a>, they test the importance of City-Regional characteristics in terms of agglomeration, \u00a0innovation spending, skills access and business dynamics on productivity.
