Kent Business School Professor of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, Professor George Saridakis has won two Above and Beyond Awards.\n<\/p>\n
Professor George Saridakis<\/a> received two Kent Union<\/a> awards for going above and beyond expectations in his entrepreneurship teaching at Kent Business School<\/a> (KBS).<\/p>\n Professor Saridakis undertook the entrepreneurship modules in 2018 and currently\u00a0teaches entrepreneurship to undergraduate<\/a> and Kent MBA<\/a> students with his overall evaluation scores for these modules in 2019\u00a0being 4.72 and 4.59 (out of 5), respectively.<\/p>\n The Above and Beyond Awards were launched by\u00a0Kent Union\u00a0to celebrate outstanding members of staff, both academic and non-academic. Students nominate staff who they believe have gone above and beyond in their role. There is no official ceremony but the students surprise the staff member whilst they are working, or even teaching!<\/p>\n Student\u2019s comments about George\u2019s teaching are presented on certificates: Professor Saridakis introduced students to a wide range of advanced approaches to entrepreneurship and explained its role in innovation, economic growth and well-being.<\/p>\n \u201cI heartily thank my students for this honour, which encourages me to continue with the same level of enthusiasm in my role as a teacher, and I would like to wish them\u00a0each a\u00a0smooth career path on their the way to their targets. As to what makes for\u00a0good teaching, I\u00a0emphasise research-based evidence and my technique has its roots in Aristotelian logic and\u00a0its approach to teaching. In my view, logic is most enlightening and certainly most fun when it challenges the students, and all of us, to\u00a0view the business world, and what it serves, in a whole new way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Professor Saridakis has also a rich publication record in the field of entrepreneurship and small business with a number of his articles published in leading and internationally recognised journals.<\/p>\n In November this year, George will participate in the\u00a0Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (ISBE) Doctoral Day with the theme \u201cPublishing and the Role of Impact\u201d.
