Debbie Kemp, Senior Lecturer Retail and Enterprise, Head of Employability and Placements at Kent Business School (KBS) has proudly accepted a Non-Executive Director role as a Trustee for Demelza House Hospice, an amazing Kent-based charity.<\/p>\n

Demelza House<\/a> provides specialist care and emotional support for children with terminal conditions and their loved ones, so they can enjoy their time together as a family, for as long as they have. \u00a0They care for children with a range of different conditions, some of which are very complex and so rare, they have no name. Every year Demelza\u2019s work is a lifeline to over 750 children and their families throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As a charity, Demelza is almost entirely dependent on the generosity of their supporters to provide the funds that keep these services going.\u00a0 These are raised through events, donations, the lottery and the twenty-eight charity shops<\/a>.<\/p>\n

As Chair of the Trading Board Debbie<\/a> will support the Retail and Lottery team to grow the income they generate to support the Hospices, which aligns with Debbie\u2019s industry background<\/a> in Retail Management and her teaching<\/a> at KBS.<\/p>\n

Debbie added \u201chaving completed the Kent MBA<\/a> recently I wanted to apply my knowledge and support the Universities civic mission to give back in our local community.\u00a0 I hope to involve other staff and students to explore fundraising opportunities as well as student projects, volunteering and placements within Demelza\u201d.<\/p>\n
