{"id":8064,"date":"2019-07-16T09:23:40","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T08:23:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=8064"},"modified":"2020-04-29T15:31:59","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T14:31:59","slug":"kbs-hosts-the-deaic-conference-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2019\/07\/kbs-hosts-the-deaic-conference-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"KBS Hosts the DEAIC Conference 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">Kent Business School (KBS) hosted the 4th Data Envelopment Analysis International Conference (DEAIC) on the weekend of June 28-30, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The conference was jointly organised by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/\">KBS<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/research.kent.ac.uk\/acbm\/\">Centre of Anglo-Chinese Business &amp; Management<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/english.cas.cn\/\">Chinese Academy of Sciences<\/a>, the Chinese Society for Evaluation Methods and Applications and <a href=\"http:\/\/english.nau.edu.cn\/\">Nanjing Audit University<\/a>, China.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.deaic.org\/\">DEAIC<\/a> focused on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and related research in the era of Big Data research.<\/p>\n<p>More than 60 delegates delivered papers and keynote speeches in the 3-day event and had the opportunity to interact with other leading researchers during the event. Delegates were from Universities and Institutions in:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the UK<\/li>\n<li>Canada<\/li>\n<li>USA<\/li>\n<li>Japan<\/li>\n<li>India<\/li>\n<li>China<\/li>\n<li>Spain<\/li>\n<li>Ecuador<\/li>\n<li>Czech Republic<\/li>\n<li>South Korea<\/li>\n<li>France<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Five keynote speeches were delivered by leading researchers in DEA. These high-profile keynote speakers included<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpi.edu\/people\/faculty\/jzhu\"> Joe Zhu<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wpi.edu\/\">Worcester Polytechnic Institute<\/a>, USA<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/schulich.yorku.ca\/faculty\/wade-d-cook\/\"> Wade D. Cook<\/a> of <a href=\"http:\/\/schulich.yorku.ca\/\">Schulich School of Business<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yorku.ca\/index.html\">York University<\/a>, Canada,<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.umh.es\/contenido\/pdi\/:persona_32196\/datos_es.html\"> Jes\u00fas T. Pastor<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.umh.es\/\">Universidad Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez de Elche<\/a>, Spain<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www2.aston.ac.uk\/aston-business-school\/research\/departments\/oim\/department-members\/prof-emmanuel-thanassoulis\/index\"> Emmanuel Thanassoulis<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www2.aston.ac.uk\/aston-business-school\">Aston Business School<\/a>, UK<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/departments\/sbe\/staff\/victor-podinovski\/\"> Victor Podinovski<\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lboro.ac.uk\/\">Loughborough University<\/a>, UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Chair of DEAIC2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/liu-steve.html\">Prof. Steve Wenbin Liu<\/a> when addressing the closing ceremony indicated that the conference had been successful from feedback by speakers and delegates.
