{"id":7874,"date":"2019-06-18T10:39:13","date_gmt":"2019-06-18T09:39:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=7874"},"modified":"2020-04-29T15:33:37","modified_gmt":"2020-04-29T14:33:37","slug":"david-williamson-receives-international-recognition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2019\/06\/david-williamson-receives-international-recognition\/","title":{"rendered":"David Williamson Receives International Recognition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">David Williamson, Kent Business School\u2019s Director of External Services, has been awarded Registered Technology Transfer Professional Status at the highest level. <\/p>\n<p>The judging panel of the <a href=\"https:\/\/attp.info\/\">Alliance of Technology Transfer Professionals<\/a> (ATTP) has awarded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/williamson-david.html\">David<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/attp.info\/about-rttp\/\">Registered Technology Transfer Professional<\/a> (RTTP) status at the highest level, full RTTP.<\/p>\n<p>The panel assessed the work David has undertaken at both at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/\">University of Kent<\/a> and also the Leeds City Region Universities, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bradford.ac.uk\/external\/\">Bradford<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hud.ac.uk\/\">Huddersfield<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.ac.uk\/\">York<\/a>, where David held the role as the consortium Innovation Partnerships Manager and the Director of Knowledge Transfer.<\/p>\n<p>The award acknowledges David\u2019s work in developing collaborations between business and universities, developing student entrepreneurship and in supporting regional economic growth projects.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/attp.info\/\">ATTP<\/a> (US-based) is the international awarding body that maintains global standards in knowledge and technology transfer, with partners and judges drawn from across different parts of the world including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AUTM (Australia)<\/li>\n<li>ISTA (China)<\/li>\n<li>Praxis (UK)<\/li>\n<li>SNITTS (Sweden)<\/li>\n<li>Technologie Alianz (Germany)<\/li>\n<li>Unitt (Japan)<\/li>\n<li>ASTP (Europe).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As Director of External Services at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/\">Kent Business School<\/a> (KBS), David carries the overall responsibility for external relations with businesses, universities in the UK and abroad, donors to the School and KBS alumni.
