The Prizes recognise the excellence of postgraduate researchers and the outstanding work carried out in support of postgraduate research and education.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the School Director of Graduate Studies (DoGS) prize was awarded to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/robinson-catherine.html\">Dr Catherine Robinson<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/\">Kent Business School\u2019s<\/a> (KBS).<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018The DoGS (Taught) role involves so many aspects of our core activity and I now have a better appreciation of how the university machine works. Since I began in this role, student numbers have grown, our postgraduate programmes have changed and we have launched two new exciting programmes at Medway. Throughout this period of change, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/meyer-martin.html\">Martin Meyer,\u00a0<\/a><em>Dean of the Business School, has provided me with direction and guidance.\u2019\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018I was delighted to be awarded the Graduate School Prize particularly because it was lovely to be nominated by those I work with.\u00a0 The support from <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/harris-tamsin.html\">Tamsin Harris<\/a><em> and <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/whiting-lyndsay.html\">Lyndsay Whiting<\/a><em> is amazing; they have made it fun and have shown incredible patience with me, especially when I first started.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I\u2019m grateful also to <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/garcia-martinez-marian.html\">Marian Garcia<\/a><em>, my mentor and line manager \u2013 she held the job before I, and has been unstintingly supportive.\u00a0 In addition, my counterpart at <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/undergraduate\/index.html\">undergraduate<\/a><em> level, \u2013 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/stone-zita.html\">Zita Stone<\/a><em> &#8211; is wonderful; acting as a sounding board and critical friend as we try to progress education and student experience in our school. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>School Manager, <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/verrion-paul.html\">Paul Verrion<\/a><em> and <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/people\/profiles\/lynsdale-charlotte.html\">Charlotte Lynsdale<\/a><em> in KBS Admissions have also given me tremendous support and guidance.\u00a0 My role involves working with so many of my colleagues in KBS; it\u2019s a real team effort, so I see that this is more recognition for our collective efforts!\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<p>KBS has a large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/postgraduate\/\">postgraduate<\/a> community, approximately 350 students on 9 programmes, led by directors who are experts in their fields.
