{"id":6250,"date":"2017-11-08T11:17:03","date_gmt":"2017-11-08T11:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/?p=6250"},"modified":"2022-05-20T21:46:16","modified_gmt":"2022-05-20T20:46:16","slug":"kbs-runs-international-virtual-company-challenge-with-polyu-hong-kong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kbs-news-events\/2017\/11\/kbs-runs-international-virtual-company-challenge-with-polyu-hong-kong\/","title":{"rendered":"KBS Runs International Virtual Company Challenge with PolyU, Hong Kong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"lead\">On November 4, Kent Business School students took on a virtual business challenge using SimVenture Software in an international collaboration between the School and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).<\/p>\n<p>The SimVenture competition brought together two teams of final stage students from KBS and two teams from PolyU to run a virtual company that made bicycles.<\/p>\n<p>The SimVenture software allows participants to make decisions in key areas of business including research and development, operations, finance and marketing and is used on our MBA programme and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/courses\/modules\/module\/CB612\" rel=\"noopener\">New Enterprise Development <\/a>undergraduate module.<\/p>\n<p>James Lagdon, studying BA (Hons) Business and Management at Medway, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cIt definitely makes you think about how your decisions affect other areas of the business. Overall an enjoyable and helpful experience.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jessica Narweh studying BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance at Canterbury, added: \u201cI really enjoyed it, but it was stressful!
