Less than a year after graduating from Kent Business School, Amit Madnani has launched his own business and is taking on the meal delivery industry.<\/p>\n
New York-born, Amit, studied BA Business Administration\u00a0at KBS <\/a>and graduated in May last year. He now runs Snapameal <\/a>in Mumbai.<\/p>\n Snapameal is based on the same business concept as Just Eat or Hungry House, but with the twist that the meals come from people\u2019s home kitchens, not restaurants.<\/p>\n Customers can buy a portion, or more, of home-cooked food and have it delivered directly to their doorstep to enjoy.<\/p>\n Amit said: ‘Right now I’m at a very exciting phase of my business growth, I have been operational since December and have established a sufficient proof of concept in my initial pilot launch within a small geographical pocket in Mumbai.<\/p>\n ‘Currently, I am focusing on aggressively growing the business across the city, my goal is to offer coverage across the whole of Mumbai by the end of the year.’<\/p>\n Amit was the winner of last year\u2019s Business Start-Up Journey<\/a> \u2013 KBS<\/a>\u2019s flagship student entrepreneurship programme which is based within\u00a0ASPIRE <\/a>(Accelerator Space for Innovation and Responsible Enterprise) in the Sibson building, Canterbury Campus. He credits the course with helping him to realise his business dreams.<\/p>\n Amit said: ‘Regardless of whether you have an idea or at what stage your idea is at, the Business Start-Up Journey<\/a> provides clarity on the life and challenges of an entrepreneur, equips you with the tools to grow your idea into a business and the insight to get past barriers you might be faced with.’<\/p>\n This year\u2019s Business Start-Up Journey<\/a> has its finale on May 17 when students will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges in a Dragons Den-style event in the Sibson building.<\/p>\n All the students have taken part in free, co-curricular six-month programme of business support including one-to-one sessions with the ASPIRE<\/a> Entrepreneur-in-Residence<\/a>, sessions on start-up knowledge including finance, branding and search engine optimisation and mentoring with business leaders.<\/p>\n The Business Start-Up Journey<\/a> is a philanthropically funded programme committed to developing the next generation of entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n To find out more about next year\u2019s programme, please email ASPIRE@kent.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n Check our new Guide for students from India coming to study at Kent Business School<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
