Kent Business School\u2019s Employability & Placements team last week held two Employer Networking Events for second year students registered to take their Year in Industry next summer.<\/p>\n
Presentations from recruiters, KBS graduates and current interns from PwC<\/a>, EY<\/a>, GSK<\/a>, Cummins<\/a>, Rackspace<\/a>, Coty<\/a> and Egress Software Technologies<\/a> gave students insight into these businesses, their application processes, and placement opportunities.<\/p>\n The presentations took place in the Kent Business School<\/a> Lecture Theatre in Canterbury<\/a>, and were followed by an hour of networking in the KBS foyer. This was an invaluable opportunity for students to acquaint themselves with placement schemes on offer and introduce themselves to potential employers.<\/p>\n \u201cThrough attending the employability networking session, I was able to meet many different companies that were very diverse in their placement offerings. It gave me an interest in companies that I had initially never considered before and was a huge eye opener and a great opportunity to meet people with experience and knowledge about each company.\u201d – Georgina Barnfield, BSc Marketing<\/a> student.<\/p>\n \u201cThe employer networking event gave me access to a new pool of placement year employers. It also gave me a chance to practise my networking skills.\u201d – George Kennedy, BSc Marketing<\/a> student.<\/p>\n A similar event was held in The Royal Dockyard Church Lecture Theatre<\/a> on the Medway campus<\/a> earlier in the week, with staff and interns from BAE Systems<\/a>, PwC<\/a>, Rackspace<\/a>, MacIntyre Hudson<\/a>, Disney<\/a>, and Nissan<\/a>, and a large number of students in attendance.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was great to have many people come and talk to me after my presentation asking about the placement opportunities at GSK<\/a>. It seems like Kent is slowly growing their reputation within GSK<\/a> and I hope this continues with even more Industrial Placement students next year!\u201d \u2013 Emma Stewart, current intern at GSK<\/a><\/p>\n The events highlighted a large number of potential opportunities for the Kent Business School students in attendance.
