He was inspired by a report about a lady who unfortunately experienced a stroke while driving and was not found for several days. Around this same time, his own grandmother had experienced a bad fall whilst alone.<\/p>\n<p>The idea was brought into reality as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tab.care\/\">TabCare Limited<\/a> over two years of support from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/facilities\/aspire\/\">ASPIRE<\/a>. Vasu founded the company while taking part in the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/2018\/03\/01\/the-business-start-up-journey\/\">Business Start-Up Journey<\/a> (BSUJ) where he reached the final. The following year saw him join the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/about\/career-support\/B2B-Updated.pdf\">Self-Employed Placement programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Vasu explained, &#8220;t<em>he support from ASPIRE has been great. Without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kent.ac.uk\/kbs\/\">KBS<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/2018\/03\/01\/the-business-start-up-journey\/\">BSUJ<\/a> I wouldn\u2019t be where I am now, perhaps I wouldn\u2019t have even begun<\/em>\u201d. ASPIRE can continue working with Vasu after graduation, through funding to support recent alumni establishing start-ups.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/files\/2019\/06\/Tabcare.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3065 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/files\/2019\/06\/Tabcare-300x178.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"384\" height=\"228\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tab.care\/\">TabCare<\/a> provides affordable family health monitoring solutions for children, older adults and vulnerable individuals. Offering peace of mind and quicker response times if an emergency occurs, keeping an eye on the people you care about most. The app works on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/uk\/iphone\/\">iPhones<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/uk\/watch\/\">Apple Watches<\/a> and the latest launch on <a href=\"https:\/\/store.google.com\/gb\/product\/google_home\">Google Home<\/a> devices allows individuals to send a panic alarm using speech alone.<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/files\/2019\/06\/Google-Home-post.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-3069 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.kent.ac.uk\/kent-business-matters\/files\/2019\/06\/Google-Home-post-295x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"321\" height=\"326\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As Founder and CEO, Vasu, who graduates in 2019, leads a team of eight and is currently in conversations with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>an NHS trust, where a trial is being implemented to reduce costs of bed blocking and elderly care.<\/li>\n<li>2 large banks for internal implementation for its employees<\/li>\n<li>3 Borough councils for their pre-telecare and telecare service with trials having begun in June.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>TabCare placed in the top 10 in an international start-up competition run by the London chapter of <a href=\"https:\/\/tie.org\/\">TiE<\/a> (The Indus Entrepreneurs). As a start-up, you don\u2019t have the luxury of time to be down for long.
