Kent Business School has \u00a0been highlighted as an example of good practice in the way it engages with business in the recently published report ‘The Role of UK Business Schools in Driving Innovation and Growth in the Domestic Economy’.<\/i><\/p>\n
<\/i>The report was undertaken by the Association of Business Schools (ABS) and commissioned by David Willetts, Minister for Universities and Science, \u00a0at the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills and was launched last week in London at an event including David Willetts, Lord Heseltine and Lord Young.<\/p>\n
The report looks at the vital role business schools play, and will continue to play, in supporting the UK economy, particularly smaller businesses, together with a number of key recommendations.<\/p>\n
The School\u2019s Business Executive Forum<\/a>, the network open to management professionals across the region, was a model of engagement the report was particularly keen to highlight.<\/p>\n David Williamson, Director of External Services at Kent Business School commented:<\/p>\n “Engaging business with business Schools in the first place is seen as difficult as quite often businesses are \u00a0unaware of the support available. It was great to see that what we are doing here at Kent through the work of academic colleagues, the Business Team and particularly through the Business Executives Forum, as means of engaging with our regional business community, was one the report sought to highlight.
